Welsh Stick Chair | Personal project, 2026

British ash, bog oak, hide glue, brass

Heavily inspired by the vernacular chairs of Wales, my chair is primarily made from British ash supplied by English Woodlands Timber in West Sussex.

The chair uses wedged mortise and tenon joinery throughout, has a steam-bent crest rail (headrest), and features an electro-etched brass maker's tag on the underside.
