Shaker End Table | Personal project, 2026

Ash, cherry, elm, iroko, London plane, maple

Following the classic Shaker-style table design, this piece is built using a range of different timber species. By setting the aprons back by 2mm, a small shadow gap is added, giving the table more depth.

The drawer features hand cut dovetails and half-blind dovetails, with the pull being turned from lustrous quartersawn elm. The rest of the table is constructed using mortise and tenon joinery throughout.

Slotted L-brackets are used to attach the table top to the frame, allowing for seasonal expansion and contraction of the iroko top.
