Sapele, pine, holly

A small handmade box showcasing dovetail joinery. The lid is perfectly friction-fitted into rabbets and the base is attached using stopped grooves.

The handle is turned from a small section of holly, taken from Epping forest with permission from the Epping Forest Keepers. After scorching the handle, char is brushed off and linseed oil is applied to deepen the rich black hue.

The underside of the box has been stamped with my homemade branding iron.

I use the box to keep sauce sachets.  salt and pepper, a spoon, and a lighter in my car.
